Using the same concept that I said before, I assume those who hasn’t heard of me before, now begin to know me slightly better.
In other words, I have broken the first layer of ice.
I didn’t straight up pitch them or hard sell them (Remember, the fallacy of wanting to sell almost immediately because you want to recover your cost and “No one likes to be sold to”).
Do that, and not only will you not be making any sales, Facebook doesn’t like that either and if your Relevance Score becomes low, Facebook will show your Ad to LESSER people and CHARGE you more. Surely, you don’t want that to happen.
What does Facebook like?
Quality Content! So, let’s give them just that!
Retargeting Magic: Saving Lost Traffic And Sales
This is where Facebook (or to a certain extent, Instagram) excels best. Even if you’ve not heard of Retargeting, you’ve definitely seen it in action!
Do you remember going to some websites, for example, booking a hotel stay, and then when you login to Facebook, you begin to see Ads like Agoda, TripAdvisor, Trivago, etc following you? Yup, that’s how retargeting work in essence.
To put it succinctly: Once a lead visited your website or engaged with your content before, your (3) [Retarget], which is also your new/other Ad will follow them on Facebook!
The intention?
To get their email address and get them onto my mailing list.
And this is a cool feature because Facebook allows you to retarget your audience for up to 180 days from first contact!
But from my experience, it’s rather foolish to have an Ad follow my prospects for more than 30 days (in fact some of my Ads are even as short as 7 days).
The rationale behind it is that even after 30 days and if my prospects are not interested or taking any action, I rather not further spend any advertising dollars on them. Because if they are not taking action in 30 days, chances are most likely they wouldn’t be taking in the future. Besides, this won’t bode well for my overall FB Ad Relevance Score
However, if you are a marketer of some kind then you should know the importance of following up. Whether you realize this or not, most people don’t act right away, for whatever the reason is…
- Maybe they’re not convinced yet.
- Maybe they think they don’t need it now.
- Maybe they couldn’t afford it right now.
- Maybe it wasn’t convenient when they were browsing and driving or walking.
Here’s the kicker: It’s dirt cheap too!
Before Facebook, the only way you can follow up with your Prospects online is through email marketing (that is if they subscribed to your mailing list). However today, you can have the best of both worlds, i.e. email marketing and Facebook and possibly other ways to continuously reach your Prospect!
Finally, Turning Warm Leads Into HOT Buyers!
Once your Prospect has gotten to know you well enough and what you’re all about, it’s about time that you let them know what you can do to solve their problems.
By using the same example as above, you can now use (4) Retarget again (with a twist), this time you will be offering a Main Offer, which could be it the form of an Online Training Course, Coaching, Consulting, etc and if they want in, they have to pay for admission.
Isn’t easier selling at this stage?
Absolutely! I believe they have seen the massive value that you had provided (again, if we are using the OFFER Model, they would’ve been focused on the price only)
Can you do the same? For SURE! This is made possible because the Clients I talk to are qualified, filtered and are rarely random applicants – in short, they know what is best for them.
It took several actions for them to get on a call with me, which means they are convinced that this works and they’ve literally sold themselves halfway through…
You Have Just Taken Yourself To The Next Level…
Now that you have understood the workings in and out of Facebook Marketing, I believe that it’s no longer a mystery to you compared to right before you read this!
Psst, there is a high chance that even if your competitors are into it, but I suspect most likely they are not doing it RIGHT and NOW is the best time that you implement what you just learnt and CRUSH them. You know the saying, that it’s best to strike the iron while it’s hot.
A little caveat though, like any good advantages, the market will change in a few years or change eventually, and by that time, your competitors will pretty much get a good grasp of it.
If you have done your Facebook funnel and campaign right, I almost guarantee you that you will be bringing back more revenue than you pay for your advertising dollars. If for every RM1 you spend, you can get back RM4 or RM10 even… how much will you be pouring in?
